Fall Festival

On the eve of Halloween, Cross Road held their second annual fall festival for the Copper River Valley community. It was a busy night with families and little ones filling our clinic hallways. Amidst the chaos, hotdogs, delightful give-aways and mountains of candies, I helped childrens make the classic salvation bracelet and clowned it up with some balloon animals. Who knew that when I learned to make flowers and swords with balloons in Guatemala seven years ago, that I would do the same in Alaska!? One thing holds true...despite the frightening evolution of technology we are experiencing, kids still love balloons. Pray that fruit would come from this holiday event...that children would have understanding for the life-saving meaning behind their black, red, white, yellow and green beaded bracelets. That bridges would continue to be strengthened between Cross Road and community members and organizations.
