the resurrection & the LIFE

DREAD. KNOWLEDGE OF DEATH COMING.

Anxious, bloody tears.

  

SUFFERING.

Physical lashes,  emotional TURMOIL, spiritual TAUNTS. MOCKERY.  Disrespect. BETRAYAL. FLOOD of DESPAIR.

MISUNDERSTOOD. HUMILIATED.  

Heavy LADEN.  FLESH exposed. SKIN ripped open, TORN. 

Side, palms, feet, PIERCED.

Scalp PUNCTURED. Life POURED out.
BODY BROKEN.

DEATH.

THREE DAYS. OF HELL. Outside of the Father's presence.

The Trinity broken as it had never been, as it will never yet be again.

The Christ Forsaken, as we may choose to never understand.

LONG, DRAWN OUT. THREE DAYS.

Life. LIFE. LIFE.

AN ETERNITY OF DAMNATION. DEFEATED. Mysterious transaction.

HEALING. OUR birthright, our well-merited DESTINY of DISASTER...

EXCHANGED for the PROMISED LAND.

HEALING. As mankind had yet to taste. FORGIVENESS. HOPE. GRACE. JOY.

Jesus. JESUS. JESUS.

CHANGED EVERYTHING.



I think about darkness.

About broken dreams.

About good intentions, not quite good enough.

I fear. I ache for what I've done, what I've seen, what I know.

I've sipped the disguised, tempting, poisonous brew of depression.

I think about linear time running too quickly through my fingers...

Fingers that move and work..typing now.. out of God's gracious power.

I can not boast of my own life. This life is not my own.

Me. Is NOT.

Without LIFE given FROM.

Me. Is NOT.

Without LIFE SUSTAINED BY.

Me. Is NOT and will NOT BE.

Without LIFE RECEIVED. ACCEPTED. 

Thank you, Yeshua, for LIFE. Thank you for understanding, and for tasting pain.

Thank you for DEFEATING death.

Thank you for your Sovereign Hand that wastes not.

Thank you.

For birthing, breathing, filling, molding, growing, building BEAUTY
...out of dust and ashes.

"Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
