Southeast to Chitina!

Once upon a time...this last Sunday...
I went with my friend Laura to a far away village called Chitina.
I joined her church group to participate in an"Easter Walk" event for the children of this small community. We created about a dozen different stations for the children to walk through, each with a different Biblical dramatization and an activity that shared something about the Easter message! We had a small group this year...about ten kids. I role played a donkey...and a woman at the cross after Christ's death (a very sobering role). Here are some pics for you!

I was the donkey colt that the disciples borrowed for Jesus to ride on Palm Sunday!

The kids had a chance to sample some foods as they learned about the
Passover meal and the Last Supper.

They learned about how Christ humbled himself to wash his disciples feet...

Hammering nails as they learned about Christ's crucifixion.

Beautiful children!
Pray that some bit of truth about Christ's love for them,
of the Easter message, will stick with them!
That they would know Him and trust Him with their lives!
This is lil' Judy.

Group photo with the kids!
One of our providers brought a couple friends
(front row) up to Alaska with her from
New York state and they helped out with the Easter stations too!
